The Bradenton Branch YMCA is the flagship branch of the Manatee County Family YMCA, built in 1977. The Bradenton Kiwanis Club donated a five-acre site and a small metal building was constructed for Y programs and membership. It was not very long before the branch expanded due to the wonderful support of the community. In 1983 a full facility was built including locker rooms, offices and an outdoor swimming pool.
